Who Kiri Pritchard-McLean is

Kiri Pritchard-McLean is a Welsh stand-up comedian, writer and broadcaster who grew up on a farm on Anglesey. A multi-award-winning comic, she has hosted Live at the Apollo and appeared on QI, Have I Got News For You and 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, and she compèred the Stand Up at BBC Wales show. On radio she is a regular on BBC Radio 4's The News Quiz, has hosted Newsjack and Loose Ends, hosts BBC Radio Wales's comedy strand and has her own Radio 4 panel show, Best Medicine. In 2020 she won the BBC's bursary in memory of Caroline Aherne.

Kiri Pritchard-McLean directed and wrote for the sketch group Gein's Family Giftshop, nominated for Best Newcomer at the 2014 Edinburgh Comedy Awards, and took her debut solo show Hysterical Woman to the Edinburgh Fringe in 2016 before it transferred to the Soho Theatre; Appropriate Adult (2017) and Victim, Complex (2018) followed it there.

She won five Chortle Awards: Best Compere and Best Club Comedian in 2018, Best Compere and Breakthrough Act in 2019, and Best Compere again in 2020.
