Your joke on the Comedytron, in short
The Comedytron is the arena board on the D.O.C. front page: comedy news, tour ads, trivia and comics’ own jokes. To submit a stand-up comedy clip, send D.O.C. one joke, 30 seconds or less, with a link where it can be downloaded. Once it has been watched and approved, it plays on the board with your stage name, your joke’s title and a link to your own channel. It’s free, and the clip stays yours.
How to submit a stand-up comedy clip
- Film one joke30 seconds or less, start to finish, with sound you can hear. Landscape or square fills the board best.
- Post it where D.O.C. can get itYouTube (unlisted is fine), Instagram, TikTok, or a Google Drive or Dropbox link that anyone with the link can open.
- Send it hereYour stage name, the joke’s title, the link and its length, with a preview of your cards on the board. It goes by email, from your own mail app.
- D.O.C. watches itIts length, its sound, its picture and that it’s PG-13, before anything plays. Nothing is published automatically.
- You’re on the boardA title card with your name, your joke, then a send-off that opens your own channel.

Jokes on the Comedytron
What makes a good Comedytron joke
- One joke. A single setup and punchline that stands on its own, not a minute of material cut short.
- A clean start. Begin on the first word of the setup: no “so, uh”, no host’s intro, no walk to the mic.
- PG-13. The Comedytron plays to everyone on the front page. A mild word is fine; no f-word or stronger, no slurs, no sexual detail, nothing graphic or hateful. Got a bit that needs it? Send a cleaner take.
- Under 30 seconds, laugh included. Leave a beat for the laugh to land, then cut.
- Sound you can hear. A clip-on mic or the room’s sound desk beats a phone at the back of the room. Stage Time’s Tech tab shows the setups.
- Landscape or square. The board is wide: a landscape or square clip fills it, and a vertical one plays in the middle with its sides softly filled.
- Music you own, or none. Walk-on music and songs in the background belong to someone else; send a version without them.
- Words on screen. The board starts with its sound off, so captions burned into the clip carry the joke to people watching without sound.
Filming a set from scratch? Filling the Room covers the camera, the light and the sound, and the posts that sell your next show.
