Your favorite comedians: a comedy Mount Rushmore, except four was never enough.
Pick twelve of your favorite comedians who are working now. You'll see when each one is next on stage and — where D.O.C. has them — their newest special, podcast and TV sets. Tap a pick for their whole SUCDb record. Legends get your ballot over on Vote for the Legends — this list is for comics who are out there working, because a show you can actually go to is the whole point.
Your twelve at a glance — open until you choose. Choose and change them below, under “Choose your twelve”.
Choose your twelve.
The pick goes into number 1, the first open seat.
Choose your twelve, and their shows on the Comedy Calendar go into one file for your phone’s or computer’s calendar.
Your twelve is saved in this browser. Some browsers clear a site's saved picks after a while, so keep this link — bookmark it or text it to yourself. Opening it puts your twelve back, and it shares your D.O.C. with a friend.
Each pick is kept on this device the moment you make it.
Choose at least one comedian to begin.
A date is not confirmed until the performer, venue or platform publishes it — each one links to the page it came from. A comic See Them Now doesn't follow opens their SUCDb record, with their own site and sources.
Please come to my city.
Tell D.O.C. where you'd go to see your twelve. Requests from the same town, for the same comics, show where a date would sell.
A request shows interest; it is not a booking, ticket reservation or promise of a show.
How Your D.O.C. keeps up with your favorite comedians
Choose twelve working stand-ups, and this page keeps their next show, their newest special, something to listen to and their TV sets side by side. Type a name, or part of one, in the box under “Choose your twelve”. Each pick takes the first open seat, or the seat you chose with “Swap”. Not sure where to start? “Use D.O.C.’s twelve” fills the seats with comics who are on the road, and you can change any of them.
The four tabs beside your seats do one job each. Next date shows when each comic is next on stage. Specials gives the newest special and where it lives. Listen finds their podcast, or an album where they have no podcast. TV stand-up counts the sets they did on television.
When your favorite comedians have shows on the Comedy Calendar, “Add my twelve’s shows to my calendar” puts them into one file for your phone or computer. Each show carries its room, its town, its showtime in the room’s own time zone where its page gave one, and the page it came from. Most calendar apps open the file directly, and Google Calendar walks through its import step on its own help page. For the full picture, See Them Now follows their dates, specials and TV sets on one page.
Questions about your twelve
Why only comics who are working now? Because a show you can actually go to is the whole point. The greats who have left the stage get your ballot on Vote for the Legends, era by era.
Where are my picks kept? In this browser, the moment you make each one, and they are not sent anywhere. Some browsers clear a site’s saved picks after a while, so “Copy my D.O.C. link” gives you a link that puts your twelve back in their seats.
Can I share my twelve? Yes. Send the same link to a friend. If they already have a twelve of their own, they are asked before yours takes its place.
Where do the dates come from? Each date links to the page it came from: the comedian’s own site, the venue or the ticket seller. A date is confirmed once the performer, venue or platform publishes it, so open that page before you travel. D.O.C. sells no tickets.
