Who Nish Kumar is

Nish Kumar is a British stand-up comedian known for sharp political comedy, with five solo shows at the Edinburgh Fringe, two of which were nominated for the Edinburgh Comedy Award for Best Show, in 2015 and 2016. He hosted BBC Two's satirical news series The Mash Report, has appeared on Live at the Apollo as guest and host, QI, Mock the Week, Have I Got News for You and Taskmaster, and made the travelogue Joel and Nish vs The World for Comedy Central with Joel Dommett.

On radio he has had his own topical show, Spotlight Tonight, on BBC Radio 4 and has hosted The News Quiz and Newsjack. His stand-up recordings It's In Your Nature To Destroy Yourselves, parts one and two, were made at London's Duchess Theatre in 2016 and the Hackney Empire in 2019, his special Nish, Don't Kill My Vibe is available from 800 Pound Gorilla, and he took that show to the Perth Comedy Festival in 2025. He also co-hosts the podcast Pod Save the UK.
