Who Christopher Macarthur-Boyd is

Christopher Macarthur-Boyd is a Scottish stand-up comedian from Glasgow, known to audiences as CMB, whose relaxed, warm hours of loosely linked routines Chortle has praised as frequently hilarious. A finalist in So You Think You're Funny? in 2014, he released the specials Oh No, recorded at Monkey Barrel Comedy in Edinburgh (800 Pound Gorilla, 2024), and Scary Times, recorded at the Pavilion in Glasgow and premiered on Some Laugh's YouTube channel on 22 June 2025.

His 2025 Edinburgh Fringe hour Howling at the Moon sold out its run, was nominated for the Malcolm Hardee Award for the Act That Should Make a Million Quid and long-listed for Best Show at the ISH Edinburgh Comedy Awards, and toured on to the 2026 Machynlleth Comedy Festival on 3 May 2026. He hosted the Glasgow heat of the BBC New Comedy Awards 2025 on BBC Three, has appeared on Frankie Boyle's New World Order and Scotland Stands Up, and co-hosts the podcast Here Comes The Guillotine with Frankie Boyle and Susie McCabe. He has opened for Kevin Bridges, Shane Gillis and David Cross.
