Who Jen Brister is

Jen Brister is an English stand-up comedian, writer and actor. Her Edinburgh Fringe shows run from Jen Brister is British(ish) (2011) and Wishful Thinking (2014) to Meaningless (2018), which streams on Amazon Prime, NextUp and Soho Comedy, Under Privilege (2019), The Optimist (2022) and Reactive (2025), and she was nominated for Best Compere at the 2022 Chortle Awards and in the comedy category of the 2025 Sky Arts Awards.

On television she has appeared on Live at the Apollo, Mock the Week, QI, Frankie Boyle's New World Order and Hypothetical, and on radio on The News Quiz and The Now Show, with her own BBC Radio 4 series, Waves, in 2022; she has also presented on BBC 6 Music. Her comedy memoir The Other Mother was published by Square Peg in 2019, and she co-hosts the podcasts Women Talking Bollocks, with Maureen Younger and Allyson June Smith, and Memory Lane, with Kerry Godliman.
