Who Lee Mack is
Lee Mack is an English stand-up comedian, writer and actor, born in Blackburn and raised in Southport, who did his first open-mike spot in 1994 while a student at Brunel University and the following year won the So You Think You're Funny? new-act competition at the Edinburgh Fringe.
His 2000 Edinburgh show was nominated for the Perrier Award, and after ITV's The Sketch Show he took the lead in the BBC One sitcom Not Going Out, which began in 2006, and became a team captain on Would I Lie to You?. His stand-up tours include Going Out (2008) and Hit the Road Mack (2013), released with Lee Mack Live (2007) as live DVDs, and in 2018 he toured with Rob Brydon and David Mitchell in Town to Town. He tells his own story in the book Mack the Life (2012).
