Who Hugh Dennis is
Hugh Dennis is a comedian, actor and writer whose performing career began in 1985 as one half of the double act Punt and Dennis, with a television debut on Channel 4's Saturday Live; the pair have taken live shows to the Edinburgh Fringe, among them Stuff and Nonsense (2007), and toured They Should Get Out More (2009) and Ploughing On Regardless (2013).
On television Dennis is best known for the BBC Two panel show Mock the Week and all five series of the BBC One sitcom Outnumbered, won Best TV Comedy Actor at the 2011 British Comedy Awards, and has appeared in Fleabag and Not Going Out. On radio Dennis writes and presents Radio 4's The Now Show and Radio 2's It's Been a Bad Week, and in 2021 Dennis presented The Great British Dig: History in Your Back Garden on More4.
