Who Tim Vine is

Tim Vine is a stand-up comedian known for puns and one-liners, billed as the Punslinger. He began in stand-up at London's Comedy Café in 1991, won the Perrier Best Newcomer award at the Edinburgh Festival in 1995 with The Tim Vine Fiasco, and in 2004 set the Guinness world record for the most jokes told in an hour, 499 at London's Soho Theatre; the Dave award for the best joke of the Edinburgh Fringe went to him in 2010 and again in 2014.

On television he played in ITV's BAFTA-winning The Sketch Show and in five series of BBC One's Not Going Out from 2006 to 2012, came second in series 6 of Taskmaster, has appeared on Live at the Apollo and QI, and hosted Whittle and Don't Blow the Inheritance as well as his own comedy gameshow, Fluke. His stand-up DVDs run from Tim Vine Live (2004) and Punslinger (2008) to The Jokeamotive (2009) and Tim Timinee Tim Timinee, Tim, Tim, to you (2016), and in August 2026 he brought Sillypun Valley to the Edinburgh Festival.
