Who Anne Edmonds is

Anne Edmonds is a stand-up comedian, writer and actor known as the rock star of Australian comedy, whose stand-up takes aim at targets close to home. A national finalist in Raw Comedy in 2010, she won the Piece of Wood, the award chosen by fellow comedians, at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival in 2015 for You Know What I'm Like, shared the festival's Directors' Choice award in 2016 with True Aussie Patriots, and shared the Sydney Comedy Festival's top prize with Aunty Donna in 2018.

Her show What's Wrong With You? became an Amazon Prime special, and Why Is My Bag All Wet?, filmed for Paramount+, won the AACTA Award for Best Stand-up Special in 2025. On television she plays her alter ego Helen Bidou in the ABC's Get Krack!n, hosted Talkin' Bout Your Gen on Network Ten in 2025, has been a regular guest on Have You Been Paying Attention? and appeared on Taskmaster Australia and Last One Laughing: Australia, and she created, wrote and stars in the ABC comedy series Bad Company with Kitty Flanagan.
