Who Rhys Nicholson is

Rhys Nicholson is a stand-up comedian who has been a mainstay of comedy festivals in Australia and beyond since their first show, Almost a Person, won Best Newcomer at the Sydney Comedy Festival in 2012. Their show Rhys! Rhys! Rhys! won Most Outstanding Show at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival in 2022, the year they shared the Sydney Comedy Festival's Best of the Fest award with Wil Anderson, and Seminal was named Best International Show at the New Zealand International Comedy Festival in 2018.

Their special Nice People, Nice Things, Nice Situations is on Netflix around the world, and their US television debut came as the stand-up guest on Conan. On television they have appeared in all four seasons of RuPaul's Drag Race Down Under on Stan, on Taskmaster Australia and Thank God You're Here, hosted the ARIA Awards in 2023 and 2024, and acted in Netflix's The Imperfects and in FISK. Their first book, Dish, came out in 2023.
