Who Damien Power is
Damien Power is an Australian stand-up comedian, writer and actor, a three-time nominee for Most Outstanding Show at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and winner in 2017 of its Pinder Prize, a grant to take a show to the Edinburgh Fringe. His show Sell Mum Into Slavery was filmed for ABC TV's Comedy Next Gen series in 2016, Utopia: Live in 3D played the Edinburgh Fringe and London's Soho Theatre, and in 2017 he performed at Just For Laughs in Montreal on All Access, hosted by Wyatt Cenac.
On television he had his own segment, Power to the People, on The Project and appeared in the ABC's Tonightly and Fancy Boy, and he created and starred in the comedy series Expanded Minds Only with Mel Buttle, Becky Lucas and Sam Campbell. He has nearly ten full-length specials free online, released the albums Alone in the Crowd (2023) and Not So Funny Now, Is It? (2025) on 800 Pound Gorilla Records, and co-hosts the podcast Neurotic News with Dan Rath; his track Hypersexual Environmentalists was played on SiriusXM's Raw Comedy channel in December 2024.
