Who Russell Howard is
Russell Howard is an English stand-up comedian and one of the UK's most successful, with more than two million tickets sold worldwide and over a billion views of his clips. He made 58 appearances on Mock the Week between 2006 and 2010, was nominated for the Edinburgh Comedy Award in 2006 for his show Wandering, and wrote and starred in 96 episodes of BBC Three's Russell Howard's Good News and six series of Sky's The Russell Howard Hour.
His tours include Wonderbox (2014), Round the World (2017), with a record ten-night run at the Royal Albert Hall, Respite, which ended with his second Netflix special Lubricant after Recalibrate in 2017, and Russell Howard Live, 237 shows in 30 countries, filmed at the London Palladium as a special that premiered as a global stream in January 2025. He hosts the podcasts Five Brilliant Things and, since September 2024, GoalLess with Chris Wittyngham, returned to the stage in 2026 with the tour Don't Tell The Algorithm, and a TakeOver for his Russell Howard Live tour was played on SiriusXM's Raw Dog Comedy channel in September 2023.
