Who Ria Lina is
Ria Lina is an English stand-up comedian, writer and actor who holds a PhD in viral bioinformatics from University College London. Lina reached the final of the Daily Telegraph Open Mic Award at the 2002 Edinburgh Fringe and was runner-up in the Funny Women Awards in 2003, and Lina's Fringe hours since 2012 run from It's Not Easy Being Yellow, Thpethial and School of Riason to Taboo Raider, Dear Daughter and Riabellion in 2025.
On television Lina appeared on Live at the Apollo in 2021 and hosted an episode in 2023, and has been a guest on Mock the Week, Have I Got News for You and Richard Hammond's Brain Reaction; on radio Lina is a panellist on The News Quiz and Breaking the News, and in 2025 wrote and presented Ria Lina Gets Forensic. Lina was nominated for Breakthrough Act at the Chortle Awards in 2022.
