Who Jason Byrne is
Jason Byrne is an Irish stand-up comedian whom The Times has called the outright king of live comedy, known as the biggest-selling comedian at the Edinburgh Fringe, where he has been nominated for both the Perrier Newcomer award and the Perrier Award itself. On television he has played Live at the Apollo, ITV's Comedy Annual, Dave's One Night Stand, the Channel 4 Comedy Gala and John Bishop's Only Joking, and he was among the Irish acts on RTÉ's Stand & Deliver, filmed in Galway in 2010.
On radio he has been heard on Just A Minute and And The Winner Is, and his own Jason Byrne Show ran for three series on BBC Radio 2, winning the Sony Radio Gold Award for Best Comedy in 2011. He has performed from New York and Boston to Hong Kong, Singapore, Paris and Australia, and his 2026 show, 30 Years Byrning, was long-listed for Best Show at the ISH Edinburgh Comedy Awards.
