Who Nicola Dempsey is
Nicola Dempsey is a British musical comedian who performs with her sister Rosie Dempsey as Flo & Joan, a piano and percussion duo whose comedy songs they write themselves. The pair have appeared on Live at the Apollo, The Royal Variety Performance, Red Nose Day, Jonathan Ross' Comedy Club and The Russell Howard Hour, and on BBC Radio 4's The Now Show, and have played Glastonbury, Latitude, the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and Just for Laughs Montreal.
Their fifth full-length show, Sweet Release, ran for 148 performances and was recorded at London's Royal Court, their special Alive on Stage streams on Amazon Prime, and One Man Musical, which they wrote for George Fouracres, won Best Show of 2024 at the Chortle Awards. They have also written songs for Horrible Histories, Question Team, This Hour Has 22 Minutes and the West End musical Death Drop.
