Who Stephen Buchanan is
Stephen Buchanan is a Scottish stand-up comedian, writer and actor who in 2018 became the first Scottish winner of the BBC New Comedy Award and was named Scottish Comedian of the Year. His Edinburgh Fringe debut, Baby Dove (2019), sold out, as did Charicature (2023), which was filmed at The Stand in Glasgow, and his BBC Radio 4 stand-up special Talking Shop followed in 2021.
On screen he co-wrote and starred in Cable Tied for BBC Three with Martin Quinn, wrote The Dead Don't Care for Channel 4, nominated for an RTS award in 2025, and has appeared on Comedy Central Live, Scot Squad and Jonathan Ross' Comedy Club; he co-hosts the podcast Some Laugh with Marc Jennings and Stuart McPherson.
