Who Laura Smyth is

Laura Smyth is a stand-up comedian, writer and actor from East London who won the Funny Women Stage Award in 2019.

Her debut tour, Living My Best Life, played forty-eight dates in 2024, ending with a third London show at the Indigo O2, and her BBC Radio 4 stand-up special I Don't Know What to Say won the gold comedy award at the 2024 ARIAS. Since 2025 she has hosted BBC Radio 4's Your Mum, in which fellow comedians share stories about their mothers, and on television she has appeared on Live at the Apollo, QI, Have I Got News for You, Would I Lie to You? and The Jonathan Ross Show, hosted the London heats of the BBC New Comedy Awards in 2023 and 2024, and written for Bad Education and Deep Fake Neighbour Wars.

She co-hosts the podcasts Bang On It, nominated for Best Comedy Podcast at the 2023 British Podcast Awards, and Shouldn't Laugh But, with Carmen Butcher.
