Who Amy Gledhill is

Amy Gledhill is a stand-up comedian, actor and writer from Hull, England, whose confessional, saucy storytelling also carries plenty of heart. Her first solo hour, The Girl Before The Girl You Marry, was a Best Newcomer nominee at the 2022 Edinburgh Comedy Awards and a best stand-up show nominee at the 2023 National Comedy Awards, and her second, Make Me Look Fit on the Poster, won Best Comedy Show at the 2024 Edinburgh Comedy Awards and was a Best Show nominee at that year's (ISH) Edinburgh Comedy Awards.

She also placed joint third in the Leicester Square Theatre New Comedian of the Year in 2013, won the BBC's Caroline Aherne Bursary in 2018 and was a Breakthrough Act nominee at the 2024 Chortle Awards, and in 2025 she hosted the Newcastle heat of the BBC New Comedy Awards on BBC Three.

On television she has been a contestant on series 21 of Channel 4's Taskmaster and series 2 of Last One Laughing UK, has appeared on Live at the Apollo, played Leslie in BBC Two's Alma's Not Normal and starred in Harlan Coben's Run Away on Netflix, and she co-hosts the podcasts Northern News, with Ian Smith, and Single Ladies In Your Area. She is also half of the double act The Delightful Sausage with Chris Cantrill.
