Who Julio Torres is

Julio Torres is a Salvadoran comedian, writer and actor whose HBO special My Favorite Shapes (2019) is a multimedia stand-up hour built around the shapes Torres likes best. Torres is best known as a writer for Saturday Night Live, work that brought five Emmy nominations for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series between 2016 and 2024, and co-created the HBO series Los Espookys (2019) with Ana Fabrega and Fred Armisen. In 2024 Torres wrote, directed and starred in the A24 film Problemista, opposite Tilda Swinton, and created, wrote, directed and starred in the HBO series Fantasmas.
