Who Jon Richardson is

Jon Richardson is a stand-up comedian who reached the final of the Last Laugh competition in his first year on stage, was nominated for the if.comedy Best Newcomer award at the 2007 Edinburgh Fringe, won the Chortle Award for Best Breakthrough Act in 2008 and was nominated for the main Edinburgh Comedy Award in 2009. Richardson's Fringe hours ran from Spatula Pad (2007) to Don't Happy, Be Worry (2010), and the tours from It's Not Me, It's You (2010), Nidiot (2013) and Old Man (2016) to The Knitwit (2019), which played to about 150,000 people across the UK and Ireland; the live recordings include Funny Magnet (2012) and Nidiot (2014).

On television Richardson captained a team on Channel 4's 8 Out of 10 Cats from 2011 to 2015 and on 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, stars in the Dave sitcom Meet the Richardsons, hosted Channel Hopping with Jon Richardson and has appeared on Have I Got News for You, Live at the Apollo, Would I Lie to You? and Taskmaster. From 2006 to 2008 Richardson co-hosted The Russell Howard Show on BBC 6 Music, and the podcasts include Down the Dog with Matt Forde.
