Jeremy Hotz
Who Jeremy Hotz is
Jeremy Hotz is a Canadian stand-up comedian, billed as the master of misery, known for confused yet astute observational comedy, sold-out Canadian theatre tours and performances across the United States, Europe and Australia. After a standing ovation on his debut at the Just For Laughs television gala in Montreal in 1997 he returned many times, named best performer by The Globe and Mail in 2005 and best in fest by the Montreal Gazette in 2008, and he made his U.S. late-night debut on The Late Show with David Letterman before five appearances on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
He has had his own Comedy Central special, CTV's What a Miserable Show This Is... and the one-hour special Dangerously Handsome (2018), was a staff writer and performer on The Jon Stewart Show, won a Gemini Award for CBC's The Newsroom and was a regular in the final season of HBO Canada's Call Me Fitz.
He won the Dave Broadfoot Comic Genius Award at the 2008 Canadian Comedy Awards and Best Male Stand-Up in 2009, as well as the Sydney Comedy Festival's jury prize for best international performer, and in 2024 he marked his tenth national tour with Très Misérables. His track The Men's Locker Room, from his album Lost Bird (2010), was played on SiriusXM's Raw Dog Comedy channel in June 2021.
