Who Celeste Barber is

Celeste Barber is an Australian comedian, actor and writer, billed as the 'Australian Queen of Comedy', whose celebrity-parody Instagram account has more than 9.7 million followers. A RAW Comedy state finalist at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival in 2015, she premiered her one-woman show Celeste Barber Challenge Accepted! in Sydney in June 2017, took it to three sell-out seasons in the United States, Montreal's Just for Laughs in 2019 and the United Kingdom and Europe, and recorded her first Showtime special at her New York show.

Her stand-up show Celeste Barber: Fine, Thanks toured Australia, New Zealand, the US and Europe in 2022 and 2023 and was filmed at the Sydney Opera House for Netflix, and she followed it with Celeste Barber: Backup Dancer from 2024. She starred in Netflix's Wellmania and in The Letdown, her memoir Challenge Accepted! was shortlisted for the ABIA Biography Book of the Year in 2019, and her track Allowed/Not Allowed was played on SiriusXM's Raw Comedy channel in January 2025.

Celeste Barber trained in acting at the University of Western Sydney's Theatre Nepean, graduating in 2002, and first became known as paramedic Bree Matthews on All Saints from 2005 to 2009; she began recreating celebrity photos on Instagram in January 2015 under the hashtag #celestechallengeaccepted.

Her picture book Flamingo Celeste Is Not Like the Rest, illustrated by Heath McKenzie, was shortlisted for the picture book prize at the 2022 West Australian Young Readers' Book Awards.
