Who Archie Maddocks is
Archie Maddocks is a stand-up comedian and writer who shared the Bath Comedy Festival's New Act of the Year award in 2014 and was a finalist that year in the NATYs and English Comedian of the Year. He works the comedy circuit in the UK and has performed in South Africa and the United States; his shows include Shirts Vs Skins (Edinburgh Fringe 2016), IlluminArchie, which transferred to London's Soho Theatre in 2017, and Matchstick (Edinburgh 2018), and his jokes have made the Telegraph's and the Evening Standard's lists of the best of the Fringe.
As a writer he wrote and stars in the BBC series Crongton, adapted from Alex Wheatle's novels, and wrote the film Gassed Up (2022), the play A Place for We (2021) and dramas for BBC Radio 4, and on television he has appeared on Celebrity Pointless, Alan Davies: As Yet Untitled, Guessable and TBS's Miracle Workers.
