Who Tommy Pope is

Tommy Pope is a stand-up comedian, writer and actor from Philadelphia who grew up in Drexel Hill and started doing comedy at 28, taking the stage name Pope to avoid confusion with Tom Papa. He won Helium Comedy Club's Philly's Phunniest contest in 2011, was a New Face at Just for Laughs in Montreal the next year and competed on the eighth season of NBC's Last Comic Standing in 2014. With the sketch groups BirdText and Deer Prom he made Real Househusbands of Philadelphia and co-created Delco Proper for Comedy Central; he is a series regular on Netflix's Tires, was a recurring character on Gilly & Keeves, co-hosts the podcast Stuff Island and hosts the YouTube series Look at Dish.
