Who Sam Lake is

Sam Lake is an English stand-up comedian, writer, presenter and podcaster who won Leicester Square Theatre's New Comedian of the Year in 2018, the year Lake also took the Hastings Fringe Newcomer of the Year award, after winning South Coast Comedian of the Year in 2016 and reaching the BBC New Comedy Award final in 2017.

Lake has released the full stand-up specials Cake and Aspiring DILF on YouTube, has been tour support for Ed Gamble, Suzi Ruffell, Tom Lucy and Harriet Kemsley, and brought the work in progress Drop Zone, Three Please Ben to the Edinburgh Fringe in August 2026. Lake is a regular guest on BBC Scotland's Breaking the News, has written for The News Quiz and Newsjack on BBC Radio 4, and since 2020 has hosted the podcast I've Had a Rosé, Let's Talk About Feelings with Sam Lake.
