Who Njambi McGrath is

Njambi McGrath is a Kenyan-born British stand-up comedian, author and broadcaster whose comedy draws on growing up in Kenya, the legacy of the British Empire and life in Britain today. She won the Hackney Empire New Act of the Year in 2019, has taken solo shows to the Edinburgh Fringe since 2014 and played a run at Soho Theatre, and her specials include Breaking Black (2018), African in New York – Almost Famous (2019) and Accidental Coconut (2020).

She has been featured on Comedy Central and the BBC, including BBC Two's Edinburgh Nights and Radio 4's Comedy of the Week, wrote and presented the BBC Radio 4 series Njambi McGrath: Becoming Njambi, comments on politics for Channel 4, LBC and BBC One's Sunday Morning Live, and is the author of Through the Leopard's Gaze.
