Who Geoff Norcott is
Geoff Norcott is a British stand-up comedian, writer and broadcaster, a former English teacher who began performing in 2001 and is known for a right-leaning take on politics that is rare in British comedy. Norcott has brought shows to the Edinburgh Fringe since Professional Teenager in 2006, among them Conswervative (2016), Right Leaning but Well Meaning (2017), I Blame the Parents and the Basic Bloke hours, and has toured Traditionalism (2017), Taking Liberties (2018), Basic Bloke (2022) and Basic Bloke 2 (2025).
On television Norcott has performed on Live at the Apollo and Comedy Store Live and appeared on Mock the Week, The Mash Report, Would I Lie to You?, The Last Leg, Question Time and BBC Two's How the Middle Classes Ruined Britain; on radio Norcott has made three Radio 4 shows of his own, appeared on The News Quiz and The Now Show and hosted afternoons on Times Radio. Norcott is the author of Where Did I Go Right?: How the Left Lost Me (2021) and The British Bloke Decoded (2023) and hosts the podcast What Most People Think.
