Who Russell Kane is

Russell Kane is a stand-up comedian, writer and broadcaster who started in 2004 by winning the Laughing Horse new act competition and won the Edinburgh Comedy Award in 2010, on his third nomination, the year of his Fringe show Smokescreens & Castles; he also took the Melbourne International Comedy Festival's Barry Award in the same year. His tours include Right Man, Wrong Age (2015), The Essex Variant!

(2018) and HyperActive, which ran for two years across seven countries, and he has appeared on Live at the Apollo, Michael McIntyre's Big Show and The Stand Up Sketch Show. Kane also hosts the BBC Radio 4 podcast Evil Genius, has written and toured three stage plays, and is the author of the books The Humorist (2012) and Son of a Silverback (2019).
