Their stand-up

Mittermeier wrote his 1994 master's thesis at the University of Munich on American stand-up comedy and broke through with his 1996 show Zapped, whose MacGyver parody became a running gag; his album Back to Life reached number two on the German chart in 2000 and sold more than 200,000 copies, and he won the Deutscher Comedypreis for best comedian in 1999, 2000 and 2008.

He has performed at Berlin's Quatsch Comedy Club since 1992 and is one of its owners, was the only German act at Just for Laughs in Canada in 2011, toured the United States in English in the autumn of 2015 with the support of the Goethe-Institut, and in 2023 won the fourth season of Amazon Prime Video's LOL: Last One Laughing jointly with Kurt Krömer.
