Who Melanie Bracewell is
Melanie Bracewell is a New Zealand stand-up comedian, writer and television host who won the RAW Comedy Quest in 2015, Best Newcomer at the New Zealand International Comedy Festival in 2017 and the Billy T Award in 2018. Her show The Rumours Are True won the Directors' Choice Award at the 2021 Melbourne International Comedy Festival, and in 2024 her Edinburgh Fringe show Attack of the Melanie Bracewell was long-listed for Best Newcomer at the (ISH) Edinburgh Comedy Awards.
Since 2021 she has co-hosted Network 10's The Cheap Seats with Tim McDonald, which won the 2023 Silver Logie for Most Outstanding Entertainment Show, and she won Taskmaster NZ in 2023; she was a series writer on all four seasons of Wellington Paranormal, winning Best Comedy Script at the 2021 New Zealand Television Awards, and executive story editor on Apple TV's Time Bandits. She toured the UK in 2024 with Forget Me Not, released as her debut special, and has appeared on QI, Have You Been Paying Attention?, 7 Days and The Project.
