Who Mario Cantone is

Mario Cantone is an actor, comedian, singer and writer from New York whose career has run through stand-up, the stage and the talk-show table, with live shows at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Café Carlyle, 54 Below and Gotham Comedy Club. He first became known as host of the children's show Steampipe Alley (1988–1993), played Anthony Marentino in HBO's Sex and the City and its films and in all three seasons of And Just Like That…, and has appeared more than 150 times on The View as guest and guest co-host.

His one-man show Laugh Whore, which he wrote and performed, earned a Tony nomination on Broadway and was filmed live for Showtime; on Broadway he also played Samuel Byck in the Tony-winning 2004 revival of Assassins and Buzz in Love! Valour! Compassion!, and in 2026 he joined the Celebrity Autobiography company at the Shubert Theatre.
