Who Josh Thomas is
Josh Thomas is an Australian stand-up comedian, writer and actor from Brisbane who won the Melbourne International Comedy Festival's RAW Comedy competition in 2005 and its Best Newcomer award in 2007. At 21 he curated the first Brisbane Comedy Festival at Brisbane Powerhouse in 2009, the venue where he had first seen and first performed comedy, and he toured a run of solo shows through the Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane and Sydney festivals, releasing the stand-up DVD Surprise in 2011.
A panellist on Talkin' 'bout Your Generation, he went on to write and star in Please Like Me for ABC TV, which won Best Comedy at the AACTA Awards and Most Outstanding Comedy at the Logies and was nominated for an International Emmy. Now based in Los Angeles, he created and stars in Everything's Gonna Be Okay, returned to stand-up with the international tour Whoopsie Daisy in 2019, and in 2026 took his new stand-up show, jiggle jiggle, on a world tour.
