Who Joe Gatto is

Joe Gatto is a stand-up comedian from Staten Island, New York, who spent two decades in sketch comedy as a member of the Impractical Jokers, with whom he sold out arenas such as Madison Square Garden in New York and the O2 Arena in London.

On his own he toured his Night of Comedy show for two years, selling out theatres across the United States, Canada and Australia, and his debut stand-up special, Messing With People, premiered on 800 Pound Gorilla's YouTube channel on 17 September 2024, with an album of it from 800 Pound Gorilla Records. He hosts the comedy advice podcast Two Cool Moms with Steve Byrne and has written a children's book, Where's Bearry?, illustrated by Luke Flowers.

Joe Gatto toured from 1998 with The Tenderloins, the improv and sketch troupe of lifelong friends that also included James Murray, Sal Vulcano and Brian Quinn, and in 2007 the troupe's sketch Time Thugs won the $100,000 grand prize in NBC's It's Your Show competition. Impractical Jokers premiered on truTV on 15 December 2011, drew more than 32 million viewers in its first season and became the network's most popular programme of the 2010s.
