Jamie Foxx is a stand-up comedian, actor and singer from Terrell, Texas, who broke through as a featured player on the sketch show In Living Color. He began doing stand-up at a comedy club's open mic night in 1989 under the stage name Jamie Foxx, then starred in and co-created The Jamie Foxx Show and won the Academy Award for Best Actor for playing Ray Charles in Ray (2004). He is host and executive producer of the Fox game show Beat Shazam, and his Netflix stand-up special What Had Happened Was... premiered in December 2024.
