Who Gilbert Lawand is

Gilbert Lawand is a stand-up comedian, born in Baghdad and raised on a Georgia farm, who got his start in Atlanta and has performed on its stages for nearly two decades. He created and produces the annual Red Clay Comedy Festival in Atlanta, has played festivals including Bridgetown and the Laughing Skull Festival, where he was a finalist in 2015, and has opened for Dave Chappelle and Aziz Ansari in large theatre shows. His first full-length special, Iraqi Born, Georgia Bred, filmed at The EARL in Atlanta, came out on Apple TV+ in 2025, and his track Fanatic Agnostics was played on SiriusXM's Sebastian Maniscalco's Comedy Radio on 1 May 2026.
