Who Doc Brown is

Doc Brown, the stage name of Ben Bailey Smith, is an English comedian, actor and writer who moved from youth charity work and underground rap to stand-up in 2007 and toured internationally as Doc Brown. Doc Brown was a finalist in So You Think You're Funny? in 2008, placed third in English Comedian of the Year in 2009, took Unfamous (2010) and Of Mic and Men (2013) to the Edinburgh Fringe and toured The Weird Way Round in 2013.

After some ten years in stand-up, Ben Bailey Smith turned to acting, writing and producing for the screen, with roles in Andor, Black Mirror, Unforgotten, Grantchester, Britannia, Derek and The Inbetweeners and the films Persuasion, Cinderella and David Brent: Life on the Road. Bailey Smith's writing includes the BBC's The 4 O'Clock Club, six children's books, among them I Am Bear, and the book Something I Said (2021).
