Who Dat Phan is

Dat Phan is a stand-up comedian and the original winner of NBC's Last Comic Standing, named the funniest person in America on 5 August 2003. Born in Saigon, Vietnam, and raised in San Diego, he worked the phones at The Improv in Hollywood by day while taking late sets at night, and his comedy draws on his experience as a Vietnamese-American.

He has appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, voiced a role on Family Guy and acted in the film Cellular and in Bones, The Last Ship and Crackle's StartUp, and he fronted DirecTV's 'The Whale' campaign. He released the DVD Dat Phan Live in 2010 and the comedy album Born in Saigon... California, and was included in the Smithsonian Institution's exhibition of the Top 10 Most Influential Vietnamese-American Individuals.
