Who Yumi Nagashima is
Yumi Nagashima is a stand-up comedian born and raised in Tokyo who moved to Vancouver, where she taught Japanese and took acting classes before discovering stand-up and making her debut in October 2016. Proud of the accent she kept rather than train away, she has taken her act to Vancouver, New York, Los Angeles, Jakarta, London and Regina. In 2019 she released her debut album, My Name Is Yumi, on Comedy Here Often?, and was invited to Montreal's Just for Laughs showcase, the Jakarta International Comedy Festival and Comedy Central Asia in Singapore. Her track My Day Job was played on SiriusXM's Raw Comedy channel in November 2023.
