Who Tim Ferguson is

Tim Ferguson is an Australian comedian, screenwriter and director who has been a member of the Doug Anthony All Stars since 1984, the trio that began as street performers and was nominated for the Perrier Award at the Edinburgh Fringe in 1988; re-formed with Paul Livingston, they won the Fringe's Spirit of the Fringe award in 2016. He has performed stand-up and musical comedy internationally, including the award-winning solo shows Carry a Big Stick and Fast Life on Wheels.

On television he hosted the Logie-winning Don't Forget Your Toothbrush and Big Brother Insider, and he co-wrote and co-directed the film Spin Out (2016). He is the author of the comedy-writing manual The Cheeky Monkey, the memoir Carry a Big Stick and the satire Left, Right and Centre, and teaches comedy screenwriting through his Cheeky Monkey courses and at schools including AFTRS, RMIT, VCA and NYU.
