Who Ronnie Corbett is
Ronnie Corbett was a comedian born in Edinburgh in 1930, whose first big break was doing stand-up on the BBC children's show Crackerjack in the mid-1950s, and who also worked for many years in cabaret. On The Two Ronnies (BBC, 1971 to 1987), alongside Ronnie Barker, he delivered weekly rambling monologues from an outsize armchair, a routine he brought back on Ben Elton's TV show in 2000. He also starred in the BBC sitcom Sorry! from 1981 and the BBC Radio 4 sitcom When the Dog Dies.
