Who Pieter Derks is
Pieter Derks is a Dutch cabaret performer and columnist who trained at the Koningstheateracademie in Den Bosch and placed third, winning the audience prize, at the Amsterdams Kleinkunst Festival in 2005, before his first full-length show, Dat zal je nog verbazen. He has brought a new show to Dutch theatres about every two years since, among them Voor wat het waard is, nominated for the Poelifinario for the best cabaret programme of 2019, and Ja, Leuk, which premiered at Rotterdam's Oude Luxor in 2024, and he was chosen to make BNNVARA's Oudejaarsconference, the solo comic look back at the year, for 2024.
He has been a Radio 1 columnist since 2011, heard weekly on De Nieuws BV, and on television he was the house comedian of De Wereld Draait Door from 2012 to 2014, won De Slimste Mens in 2013 and captained teams on De Kleine Lettertjes and Van de Week.
