Who Phil Wang is
Phil Wang is a British-Malaysian stand-up comedian whom the Guardian has called one of the stand-up greats of his generation. As president of the Cambridge Footlights he won the Chortle Student Comedy Award in 2010, and he has since made two Netflix stand-up specials: Philly Philly Wang Wang, filmed at the London Palladium, which explores race, romance, politics and his mixed British-Malaysian heritage, and Wang in There Baby, filmed at Shakespeare's Globe in London.
Audiences also know him from a series of Taskmaster, Would I Lie to You? and a brief appearance in the film Wonka. He co-hosts the podcast Budpod with Pierre Novellie and is the author of Sidesplitter, a book about being asked where he is really from, and he tours the UK and Ireland with his stand-up.
