Who Omar Badawy is

Omar Badawy is a stand-up comedian and writer, originally from Egypt and raised in Wales, who won So You Think You're Funny? at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2021 and was nominated for Best Newcomer at the Chortle Awards the following year. A BBC New Comedy Award finalist who has been seen on Channel 4, Badawy writes for Saturday Night Live UK, and his debut hour, Guided Detour, was nominated for Best Newcomer at the 2026 Edinburgh Comedy Awards and for the NextUp Biggest Award in Comedy.
