Who Nick Helm is

Nick Helm is an English stand-up comedian, writer, actor, musician and poet who began in stand-up in 2007 with a mix of one-liners, stories, poems and songs. His breakthrough Edinburgh Fringe hour, Keep Hold of the Gold, came in 2010; Dare to Dream was nominated for the Edinburgh Comedy Award in 2011, and he was nominated again in 2013. In 2014 he won Best Breakthrough Artist at the British Comedy Awards and the Times Breakthrough Award at the South Bank Sky Arts Awards, and in 2015 the Chortle Award for Best Music and Variety Act.

On television he played Andy in the BBC Three sitcom Uncle from 2014 to 2017, fronted Nick Helm's Heavy Entertainment, played Live at the Apollo in 2015 and took recurring roles in Loaded and The Reluctant Landlord, and his short film Elephant was nominated for a BAFTA in 2016. His albums include Hot 'N' Heavy and the concept album Down 'N' Dirty: Volume 1 (2026).
