Who Mike Ward is

Mike Ward is a Canadian stand-up comedian who performs in both French and English. His show Modeste sold 200,000 tickets in Quebec alone and set a Guinness World Record at Montreal's Bell Centre. He hosts Mike Ward Sous Ecoute, which his site bills as the number one French-language comedy podcast in the world, with more than eight million listens and views a month across full episodes and clips. In English he played Montreal's Just For Laughs festival in 2013, and his set from that year, Baby Named Larry, is on the festival's archive albums and was played on SiriusXM's Raw Dog Comedy channel in October 2022.

Mike Ward has performed stand-up on television in 20 countries across Europe, Africa, Australia and North America. At Just for Laughs he won the Victor for breakout star of the festival in 2002 and for best set of the festival in 2012, and he won a Gemini Award for best comedy performance in 2006 and the Canadian Comedy Award for Comedic Artist of the Year in 2016.

He was named Comedian of the Year at Quebec's Olivier awards in 2016 and 2019, when he also took the Oliviers for show of the year and best writing for a stage show, and he won the Olivier for best podcast in 2017, 2018 and 2019.
