Who Mark Simmons is

Mark Simmons is a UK stand-up comedian celebrated as a master of the one-liner, mixing crafted gags with jokes made up on the spot from audience suggestions. His joke about sailing in the world's smallest ship was voted Dave's Funniest Joke of the Fringe in 2024, he was named Best Act in the UK Comics' Comic awards for 2022, and he has appeared on Mock the Week.

A So You Think You're Funny finalist in 2009 and third in the Bath Comedy Festival's new act competition in 2010, he staged A Show for Gareth Richards with Danny Ward, which won the Edinburgh Comedy Awards' Panel Prize in 2023 and the ISH Edinburgh Comedy Awards' Panel Prize in 2023 and again in 2025. His debut tour ran for more than 200 dates across the UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand, and he hosts the podcast Jokes With Mark Simmons. His Jest to Impress tour was on the 2026 Machynlleth Comedy Festival lineup.
