Who Chris Maddock is
Chris Maddock is a Minneapolis stand-up comedian from Stillwater, Minnesota, in the St. Croix Valley, who was named City Pages' Stand Up Comic of the Year in 2014. For fifteen years from 2003 he hosted Death Comedy Jam, a weekly hub of Minneapolis comedy that became the subject of the documentary Death's Last Stand, and in 2018 he competed in the 43rd San Francisco Comedy Competition. He recorded his first album, Point of Entry, in First Avenue's 7th St. Entry and released it on Stand Up! Records in 2012, followed in October 2020 by the album and special Country Music Legend, whose track Low Comedy was played on SiriusXM's Raw Dog Comedy channel in May 2023.

Maddock began performing soon after high school and has toured across the United States and in Mexico; Death Comedy Jam, held at Grumpy's Bar in Minneapolis, also brought in national headliners such as Maria Bamford, Doug Stanhope and Andy Kindler. Country Music Legend, recorded at the Hook & Ladder Theater and bookended by two songs he performs with a live band, reached number five on the iTunes comedy chart.
