Who Brian Bates is
Brian Bates is a Nashville-based stand-up comedian and a native Tennessean who spent nearly 20 years in corporate America before turning to comedy full time at 43. He tours comedy clubs, theaters, corporate events and churches, performs regularly on the Grand Ole Opry and is heard often on SiriusXM's Pure Comedy channel.
His specials include Uber Important and Hello Folks for Dry Bar Comedy and Worried, released in July 2026 on the Nateland Entertainment YouTube channel. He was an originating member, host and producer of The Nateland Podcast across its six-year run and hosts and produces The Public Figures Podcast with Aaron Weber and Dusty Slay. On screen he appeared in two episodes of the Amazon sitcom Sprung (2022) and in Nate Bargatze's film The Breadwinner (2026).
