Who Billy Connolly is

Scottish comedian, musician, actor and artist, a former Glasgow shipyard welder and folk singer with the Humblebums, who became Britain's best-known stand-up through albums such as Solo Concert (1974) and a record 15 appearances on Parkinson. He topped Channel 4's 100 Greatest Stand-Ups in 2007 and 2010, made BBC 'World Tour' travel series, and acted in films including Mrs Brown (1997) and Brave (2012). Treated for Parkinson's disease since 2013, he announced his retirement from comedy in 2018; he was knighted in 2017 and lives in Key West, Florida.
